There are many sandy beaches on the island of Re. The following list of thoses at the east of the island is far from being exhaustive.
The southern beaches of the island are directed towards the "Pertuis d'Antioche", while those in the north are directed toward the "Pertuis Breton".
Towards Pertuis d'Antioche
- Sablanceaux beach, in Rivedoux: first beach on the island after the bridge, this beach is supervised during the season. Some scenes from the movie "The Longest Day" were filmed there.
- The beach club "Les Moussaillons" and a sailing school are located on this beach.
- Grenettes beach: this beach of Sainte-Marie-de-Re is a surf spot.
- Gros Joncs beach: two sailing schools are located on this Bois-Plage-en-Re's beach.
- Gollandières beach: the beach club "Les Moussaillons" is located on this beach of Bois-Plage-en-Re.
Towards Pertuis Breton
- Rivedoux's north beach has a low water level. Facing this beach, oyster beds are submerged.
- Arnérault beach: this sheltered beach of La Flotte-en-Ré is bordered by a pedestrian promenade.
- Cible beach: bathing area in Saint-Martin de Ré.
- La Couarde's north beach: small beach along the bay of Loix.
